


REMS Level I - DAMMERON VALLEY, UT

The REMS Level I course is designed for any experienced Rope Rescue Practitioner that is interested in learning Single Rope Technique (SRT) Light & Fast methodology. The focus of the course is to integrate FIRESCOPE & NWCG REMS into a full spectrum response mechanism that can utilize organic assets, land navigation skills, and overlanding capabilities to effect rescue in austere compromised environments. Additionally, we will integrate outside stressors such as medical simulations and night time operations in to this course. You will leave with a 40 hour Certification signifying that you have met JPRs from NFPA 1006, FIRESCOPE ICS-223, and NWCG PMS 552 regulations.
**A pre-course assignment will be accessible prior to course start date **
This course will be held in the Dammeron Valley, Utah area. There will be some travel to different sites. This inhospitable area is home to some world class environments perfectly suitable for austere anchor craft.
Full Wildland PPE is recommended
REQUIREMENTS: Helmet, Gloves, Harness.
RECOMMENDED: Rope rescue experience (but not mandatory), sunscreen, daypack for essentials, land navigation devices. Canyon clothes (the Utah sandstone canyons will EAT your gear and clothes. Great care must be taken during these experiences and it is recommended to not wear or use any high end equipment or clothing that your cherish)
All course required equipment will be provided, but if you have the ability to bring a SKED and other personal rescue gear that you use on a daily basis you are more than welcome. As well as UTVs
REFUND POLICY: Due to the open enrollment nature of this course, if the required minimum student population isn’t met, a full course refund will be provided 2 weeks prior. If within the 2 week window you are unable to attend, NO refund will be issued. However you can roll your enrollment fee to a different course at a future time.
