REMs Level I SAN DIEGO (CA RRT INCLUDED!)
JUNE 2-6
The REMS Level I course is designed for any experienced Rope Rescue Practitioner that is interested in learning Single Rope Technique (SRT) Light & Fast methodology. The focus of the course is to integrate FIRESCOPE & NWCG REMS into a full spectrum response mechanism that can utilize organic assets, land navigation skills, overlanding capabilities, and small party rescue tactics to effect rescue in austere compromised environments. Additionally, we will integrate outside stressors such as medical simulations, and night time operations in to this course. You will leave with a 40 hour Certification signifying that you have met JPRs from NFPA 1006, FIRESCOPE ICS-223, and NWCG PMS 552 regulations. Additionally, this is a CA State Fire Training Rope Rescue Technician course.
**A pre-course assignment will be accessible prior to course start date **
This course will be held in the northern San Diego county area. The course will start at a fire tower for high repetition training and we also visit various mountain sites to replicate typical REMS rescues.
Full Wildland PPE is recommended
REQUIREMENTS: Helmet, Gloves, Harness.
RECOMMENDED: If you plan on leaving with a RRT cert, you MUST already have a CA State RRAO cert OR LARRO / RS1. Please bring a copy with you on day 1. Otherwise, rope rescue experience (but not mandatory), sunscreen, daypack for essentials, land navigation devices.
All course required equipment will be provided, but if you have the ability to bring a SKED and other personal rescue gear that you use on a daily basis you are more than welcome. As well as UTVs
